Itinerary

Day 1Departure from Hyderabad

  • Get ready to depart from Hyderabad at around 3:30 pm.
  • Assemble at the boarding point and start your night journey towards base city.

Day 2BADAMI FORT - MUSEUM - BHUTHNATH TEMPLE - MAHAKUTA ANCIENT TEMPLE - PATTADAKAL - AIHOLE

  • Get freshen up at the Homestay,finish breakfast.
  • Proceed to BADAMI FORT for sunrise. It was the regal capital of the Badami Chalukyas from CE 540 to 757. It is famous for its rock cut monuments such as the Badami cave temples.
  • Move to Archeological museum featuring the area’s stone sculptures & artifacts from the 6th—16th centuries.
  • Next to Bhuthnath temple.It has a gudha-mandapa with four massive central pillars (partly octagonal, cubical and rounded on a lathe). This mandapa connects to a smaller square-plan sanctum with a Shiva linga. On the top of the sanctum is the Dravida-style tritala superstructure (three storeys).
  • Finish Lunch and proceed to Mahakuta temple.It is an important place of worship for Hindus and the location of a well-known Shaiva monastery.
  • Move to Pattadakal represents the high point of an eclectic art which, in the 7th and 8th centuries under the Chalukya dynasty,An impressive series of nine Hindu temples, as well as a Jain sanctuary, can be seen there.
  • Towards Aihole, also referred to as Aivalli, Ahivolal or Aryapura, is a historic site of ancient and medieval era Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments in Karnataka.
  • Aihole was once the capital of the Chalukya Dynasty, and is a city with a rich and illustrious history. It has great cultural significance as the cradle of Hindu temple architecture, and has more than 125 temples in and around it. Aihole is an archaeologists’ delight with several temples dating back to Chalukyan times.Finish Lunch and head back to the station and board the train in the Night.
